The agreement between you and Appalachian Tarantulas, LLC.
Last updated July 29, 2026
Our shop isn't open yet. The sales terms below are published now so you can read them before there's anything to buy. They take effect when the shop opens.
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. “We” means Appalachian Tarantulas, LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company in Mountain City, Tennessee.
You must be 18 or older to buy from us. Some species and some shipping arrangements have their own age and legal requirements.
Our care guides are free, and they are information, not veterinary advice. We research them carefully and cite sources, and we say so where keepers disagree or the reliable information is thin. Husbandry is still a field where experienced people reach different conclusions in good faith.
You are responsible for the animals in your care. Use your own judgement, cross-check anything that matters, and consult an exotics veterinarian for a health problem. We can't accept liability for outcomes from following general care information.
If you think a guide is wrong, tell us. We would much rather correct it.
Keep your password to yourself and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account. You're responsible for activity under it. We may suspend an account for fraud, abuse, or attempts to break the site — but we'll tell you why.
You can delete your account whenever you like. Email us and we'll take care of it.
An order is an offer to buy, not a completed sale — the sale is formed when we accept and ship it. We may decline an order, including for reasons like suspected fraud, an unfulfillable address, or a species we can't legally send where you live.
We try hard to keep listings accurate, but if something is mispriced or misdescribed we may cancel and refund rather than honour an obvious error. Availability is limited by what we actually have; a live animal listing is for a real animal, so a listing can disappear between your looking and your ordering.
Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where required.
These are living creatures and that shapes the terms:
Once an animal arrives healthy, its ongoing care is yours. We can't be responsible for its health after that — though you're welcome to ask us for help regardless.
Tarantuverse and Herpetoverse have their own terms, which apply when you use them. Nothing here requires you to buy from us in order to use them, and nothing there requires you to use them in order to buy from us.
If you send us a correction, a photo, or a suggestion, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to use it to run and improve the site — for example, to fix a care guide. Don't send us anything you don't have the right to share.
Our text, photographs, logo and site design belong to us. Personal use of a care guide is fine. Republishing one commercially or at scale needs our permission first — mostly so the sources travel with it instead of the information circulating secondhand.
The site is provided as it is. To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to what you paid for that order, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.
This doesn't limit anything that can't be limited by law, and it isn't an attempt to dodge our Live Arrival Guarantee — that guarantee stands on its own terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes belong in the state or federal courts of Tennessee.
Before that, though: email us. We're a small company and nearly everything is fixable by talking about it first.
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when you placed them, so a later revision can't alter a purchase you already made.
