Chilobrachys fimbriatus
Chilobrachys • Theraphosidae

**Indian Violet** — A beautiful fossorial Old World species from the tropical forests of western India. Adults develop a subtle violet-purple iridescence on the legs that is particularly visible under natural light — hence the common name. An obligate burrower that constructs deep, silk-lined tunnels and covers the entrance with a heavy webbing 'door'. Defensive and fast but generally less reactive than many other Old World fossorials. Heavy webber — the enclosure entrance will often be completely covered in silk. Keep moderately moist with dry spells between mistings to replicate the seasonal monsoon climate. Fast growing and a reliable feeder.
